There are many things that can be done with $25.3 million.
This was the amount India offered in aid to Pakistan earlier this week after the recent earthquakes shook the country.
If you should happen to catch Osama Bin Laden while you are out and about, this is the maximum reward that the government will pay you for your troubles.
Perhaps real estate is your game. Should he put it on the market, you could buy Director Steven Spielberg's summer home in the Hampton's for an estimated $25 million.
Or, as UD did, you could build a gym.
Instead of an academic building or another dorm, it was decided to build not just any gym, but a state of the art recreational facility.
Flyer News asked the question, was it worth it?
After an exclusive tour, in which Flyer News received a sneak peek into this impressive new campus gem; we have good news. We want you, the UD community, to take our word for it. It was worth every penny.
Yes, student fees were increased to pay for it. But, how much is your health worth? Living a healthy lifestyle, including a heart-healthy diet and exercise, can and probably will add years to your life.
Imagine years from now when you are a successful, confident grown-up in the working world. What type of habits do you think you will desire yourself to have at that point in your life? Habits like working out, jogging or playing sports will undoubtedly be among them. All of these should be started now and this new facility, however expensive, will help greatly in that endeavor.
The two gyms, the large, exspansive pool and the spacious workout area make this facility not just a building, but a statement. The statement, loud and clear, is that exercise is not only important, but vital.
Living a healthy life should not be decided by dollars and cents. You, the UD students, have provided for a fantastic new building. Take advantage of it.
