Let's face it, living a healthy lifestyle is something that all college students should be doing. The truth is, however, that a large portion of college students are not. UD students fit into this description quite well.
Whether it is too much eating or drinking, not enough sleep or not enough exercise, all these choices add up to not so desirable affects.
Weight gain, being the most common and most apparent, is something that happens to students of all ages, not simply the freshman and their first year 15 pounds.
The solution to this problem is straight forward and simple.
Commit yourself to exercise three to four times a week for the rest of your life.
This commitment, however, while it appears simple, is incredibly difficult to stay faithful to for many people.
The new RecPlex now makes it possible for the students of UD to get healthy in a beautiful environment and as the crowds show, it has become very popular.
While this is good for now, it needs to become a life long habit for it to be truly beneficial. It must not become another New Year's resolution that is allowed to fall to the wayside.
Exercise needs to become a part of your life forever, not just because you have a new facility to hang out and see your friends in.
Working out can be a game of basketball with a group of friends or swimming laps in the pool.
Make it fun and find things that keep you interested so you will stay with it.
Having a positive view of one's own body image is vital to being happy.
If you think you are doing just fine, then you probably are. So, do not over do it.
If you think you could live a healthier life through more exercise, get to it!
Become that healthy person you always knew you could become.
