Hopelessly in love with Flyer TV, Opinions Editor believes 'Hey O'Grady' is 'best show of all time'
I have a problem. It has nothing to do with over-eating, over-drinking or even being a dork. It is nothing of the sort. My dilemma is with love. This is, however, not a typical type of love.
It is there when I am lonely and it is there when I am not lonely. It is there when the sun shines and on the darkest of nights. It is Flyer TV.
I love Flyer TV. I am a Flyer TV junkie. While others may be watching the Flyer Movie Channel or 'Grey's Anatomy,' my television stays tuned to channel 50.
With so many different shows, what's not to love?
It's like a low-maintenance friend you thank God you have when times get tough.
I am a fan of 'Game, Set, Match,' though I have not seen a new one in quite some time. 'Flyer Feud' and, 'Are You A Multimedia God'? are both incredibly entertaining in their own right.
I have a question though. What's up with the random exercise shows? If you watch Flyer TV, you know what I'm talking about.
Now I realize the importance of healthy living as much as the next guy, but some of these shows confuse me. Are they trying to be funny? Is it supposed to be taken as a serious health show? In any case, it is entertaining and adds another element of goodness to an already incredible channel.
The numerous episodes of 'UD Cribs' that were the final projects of a group of students from a visual production class last semester provided many hours of great entertainment. Who doesn't love seeing how other people are living around campus?
There is a show, however, that is above and beyond anything featured on channel 50. One apostrophe, two words, four syllables and limitless possibilities''Hey O'Grady.'
It is the greatest and best show on Flyer TV. The show's hosts are Mr. Patrick O'Grady and Mr. Brendan O'Grady, who continually offer knowledgeable insight and humor on UD happenings.
The format is similar to the popular television show 'Pardon The Interruption' (PTI) on ESPN, except that it is a million times better.
One of the features on the show consists of randomly Facebooking someone and giving them a $10 gift certificate. How cool is that? Seriously! Also, Facebook is now not only a noun, but a verb.
In their first episode they had video of footage of the run amuck that went down at this years Dayton to Daytona sign-ups and had insightful interviews with students on the scene. It was perhaps the finest thing I have ever seen on any channel.
Check out their Web site at http://www.heyogrady.com for further details concerning the show.
'Hey O'Grady' is simply one of many fine programs on the student-run channel.
All involved with Flyer TV should be proud of themselves. They produce a great source of news and entertainment
If you have not been watching, what are you waiting for? Get to the TV and join in on the greatest thing since sliced bread.
