If there are three words you need to know for this fall, they are bags, belts and boots.
As fall rapidly approaches and the leaves change their hue, so should the items in your wardrobe. As always, trends are constantly changing. Who wouldn't want to look fabulous for a night of bumping and grinding at Tim's?
A girl's life is in her purse. That is why this season, her best friend should be her new oversized hobo bag. From leather to quilted to obnoxiously shiny, anything is in with these large buckle bags.
For fall, tons of designers are also adding pom-pom balls to their purses, giving a nostalgic tribute to one's youth. Well known designer-brand Coach has spearheaded this trend. Other designers such as Moschinos, and stores like Express and Urban Outfitters carry similar bags as well.
Tall or ankle round-toe boots in suede and leather are the new Uggs. Dress them up or down, these boots are best worn with A-line skirts or trousers. The thicker stacked heel can also provide a daytime look with jeans.
Tweed and buckles are also fun additions to a classic black or brown boot. And, for a more comfortable feel, moccasins in any color with a warm fuzzy interior are a simple way to treat your feet while looking fabulous.
Always remember, bold colors found on wide belts can compliment any old, plain tank top and jeans. Your outfit can instantly go from OK to remarkable with any of the latest belt styles. Gold, leather, sequined and woven belts are more popular than ever and the bigger the belt, the better.
Corduroy has been around forever and is now back in full force, found in blazers, pants and skirts. Also, replacing poncho sweaters are cropped sweaters, loose knit shrugs and button jackets ' great ways to keep warm this fall.
Also, everyone should without question have at least one thing in their closet that consists of dark greens, teal, beige, brown or gold.
For guys, shopping can be a nightmare. But when you hit the stores, be sure not to bypass the dark wash jeans, fitted track jackets or classic Lacoste polos. Try not to go too overboard with the puffy vests. However, they are great additions to your closet. When you're taking your girlfriend out to dinner, a pinstriped, seersucker or corduroy blazer will be sure to impress her, too.
With shoes, stay effortless and classic with suede or leather Birkenstock clogs. These shoes are a safe bet with any outfit. Or, track shoes such as New Balance or Puma can be worn walking to class during the day and then through the transition into night.
Say goodbye to oversized sunglasses and peasant skirts because its time to embrace the new fall line. If these clothes aren't hanging in your closet already, try visiting Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, J.Crew or The Gap.
So just as fast as the leaves are dropping from the trees, so is new fall line of fashion that's falling into stores and, hopefully, your closet too.
