The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Sept. 26 and Oct. 8. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.Theft
Oct. 20, 11:04 a.m.
Officer Parmenter was dispatched to the Frericks Center to speak with a UD coach concerning a stolen video camera. The victim stated that sometime in the afternoon on Oct. 17 he put a brand new Panasonic GS-300 video camera in a storage closet, and when he returned Oct. 19 it was missing. The camera is valued at $569 and is described as very small, black and silver and was inside a black canvas bag.
Grand Theft Auto
Oct. 20, 5:31 p.m.
Officer Orrill was dispatched to the College Park Center on the report of a vehicle theft. Upon arrival he met with a UD student who said his black Chevrolet 2500 was missing from the S2 parking lot Oct. 20 after it was parked there Oct. 12. After checking the area, the victim came to the College Park Center, and City of Dayton Towing was contacted. They found the truck at the intersection of Burns St. and Main St. Oct. 15.
Theft
Oct. 20, 6:45 p.m.
Officer Swank responded to a theft report and met with a UD student concerning six stolen goals from the UD lacrosse team. The victim said between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 4 p.m. Oct. 20 someone took the goals made of tubular metal. They were painted orange and had nylon nets attached. The goals were last seen on the fields by Main St. and Stewart St. The coach affirmed they were not moved by the university. The goals will cost the team $2160.
Petty Theft
Oct. 25, 5:58 p.m.
Officer Orrill was dispatched to the bicycle rack in front of Sherman Hall concerning stolen bicycle parts. He met with a UD student who said her bicycle was secured at 8 a.m. and when she returned the seat, seat post, bike bag and tire pump were missing. The stolen items are valued at $248. Reward fliers will be posted on campus for the missing items by the owner. There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.
Criminal Trespassing
Oct. 25, 7:07 p.m.
Officer Pease arrived at Kennedy Union in reference to a criminal trespassing. He met with the manager of the Hangar who observed a 55-year-old male wearing a green jacket and blue pants enter the building. Later he left and headed toward the Pub. The male had been issued a Criminal Trespass Warning previously for sleeping in Torch Lounge. Office Jolly arrived and escorted the male to Vehicle 91. He was issued a new Criminal Trespass Warning.
