The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Sept. 26 and Oct. 8. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.

Criminal Damage, Theft

Nov. 9, 10:47 a.m.

Officer Durian was dispatched to the RP 14 parking lot in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle. When he arrived he met with a UD student who said someone broke into his white 1991 Dodge Dakota pickup truck. When he approached his vehicle the door was unlocked and there was a pair of scissors hanging from the radio. The glove box was broken into and his Panasonic DV camera valued at $500 was missing. There are no suspects or witnesses.

Warrant Arrest

Nov. 9, 4:38 p.m.

A 32-year-old white male was arrested inside the UD Bookstore for possession of drugs, criminal trespass, possessing drug paraphernalia, failure to disclose and a misdemeanor warrant. A 27-year-old white female was also arrested by Officer Durian for possessing drug paraphernalia. Officer Weber, Sgt. Witte and Officer Sipes approached the man who lied about his identity and found him with a clear capsule containing suspected heroin.

Arson

Nov. 10, 4:19 a.m.

Officer Schaefer was dispatched to Stuart Complex in response to a fire alarm. He found a poster with fresh burn marks on it taped to the wall on the 5th floor of Meyer Hall. Another piece of paper taped to a door and a picture on a bulletin board also had fresh burn marks. The papers had been extinguished prior to his arrival. The Dayton Fire Department responded and inspected the area. With the fire department's approval Officer Schaefer silenced the alarm.

Petty Theft

Nov. 12, 3:19 p.m.

Officer Durian was dispatched to a landlord residence on Stonemill Road in reference to a theft complaint. He met with a UD student who stated her Apple iPod, driver's license and student ID card were missing after a party at her house the previous night. The items were on a table, and the $200 iPod was in its charger. The student did not have its serial number at the time. She filed a witness statement, and there are no known suspects.

Unlawful Entry, Burglary

Nov. 12, 5:22 p.m.

Officer Weber was dispatched to the west wing of Marianist Hall concerning a burglary. He met with a UD student who said she left her room at 8 p.m. Nov. 11 and when she returned Nov. 12 she discovered an unknown person had entered her unlocked room and removed her laptop. It is described as a 17-inch stainless steel Mac Powerbook and is valued at $2,700. There are no known suspects at this time.
