The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Dec. 19 and Jan. 2. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.Criminal Trespass
Dec. 19, 9:45 a.m.
Officer Parmenter stopped a trash collector not affiliated with UD riding his bike out of the alley behind Irving Avenue onto Lawnview Avenue. He was carrying a clear plastic trash bag containing more than cans. Clothing, a book and other miscellaneous property were visible. Officer Parmenter spoke with the man regarding the rules of private property. Nothing in the bag was determined as stolen, and the man was given a criminal trespass warning.
Criminal Damaging
Dec. 20, 8:58 p.m.
Officer Weber responded to the C parking lot at the UD Arena in reference to theft from a vehicle. He met with a woman not affiliated with UD upon arrival. She stated prior to the basketball game she parked her white 2005 Cadillac Escalade in the lot and when she returned her XM radio was removed from her dash along with some CDs. It appeared the suspect entered through the driver side door by using a prying device under the door handle.
Theft
Dec. 20, 9:44 p.m.
Officer Russell was dispatched to the C parking lot at the UD Arena on the report of theft from a vehicle. The non-UD affiliated man stated someone entered his black 2003 GMC Yukon and stole his Bose radio, GPS system and TV monitor. A pair of CK jeans and a DVD player were also removed from under the seat. The molding on the step and a seat in the second row were also damaged. The total cost of repair and replacement is unknown.
Burglary
Dec. 30, 2:22 p.m.
Officer Durian was dispatched to Stonemill Road concerning a burglary. Upon arrival he met with a UD student who stated when she returned Dec. 29 a window screen had been cut and the window was partially opened on the first floor. Numerous items were scattered throughout the house and an upstairs bedroom door was pried open. All of the student's DVDs were missing and witness statements were left for the other residents to fill out when they returned.
Theft
Jan. 2, 9:35 a.m.
Officer Durian was dispatched to the RecPlex in reference to a theft. He met with a Campus Recreation staff member who stated her university-owned Dell laptop, docking station and mouse were missing from her office. She locked her door when she left Dec. 21, and it was locked when she returned. No forcible entry was observed and the door was operating properly. There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time.
