The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Feb. 14 and Feb. 25. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.Theft
Feb. 14, 2:17 p.m.
Officer Durian was dispatched to Kettering Labs in reference to a theft. He found a stolen book bag in a men's bathroom while investigating another theft. Officer Durian made contact with the victim, a UD student, who said he figured the bag was missing Feb. 4 after he left it in Reichard Hall and noticed it missing for good Feb. 10. Four textbooks were taken from the bag for a value of $180. The victim did not know who took his bag.
Petty Theft
Feb. 17, 10:16 a.m.
Officer Durian was dispatched to a residence on Lowes Street concerning a lost cell phone. He met with the victim, a UD student, who stated she lost her black LG cell phone while walking to Milano's from her home. She stated her boyfriend received a call the next morning from an unknown male who said he would return the phone for a reward. There are no known suspects, and the student will report any further contact with the man on the phone.
Theft
Feb. 18, 2:23 a.m.
Officer Pease was dispatched to a room in VWK in reference to a theft. Upon arrival he spoke to a UD student who said he was at a party on Chambers Street when his jacket was stolen. He placed it in a downstairs bedroom when he arrived at the residence around 11 p.m. Feb. 17. When he was ready to leave at 1:30 a.m. he noticed it was missing. The black Polo jacket with a 'P' on the left chest is valued at $190. There are no suspects.
Criminal Damaging
Feb. 24, 10:34 p.m.
Officer Seipel and Officer Zoerb were dispatched to the seventh floor of Meyer in Stuart Hall concerning damage to the hallway. They contacted the Residential Assistant who stated when he returned to his floor he noticed the bulletin board had been torn off the wall and a no smoking sign had been damaged, along with two ceiling tiles. When the RA left he didn't notice any damage to the hallway. At this time there are no known suspects.
Petty Theft
Feb. 25, 5:21 p.m.
Officer Cloyd arrived to a residence on Kiefaber Street on a report of damage to a UD property. Upon arrival he met with the complainant, a UD student, who stated between 11 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 25 an unknown person removed the front mailbox from the residence. The complainant did not know who may have taken the mailbox and there are no known witnesses. The mailbox was valued at approximately $50.
