The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between March 19 and March 20. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.

Petty Theft

March 19, 9:08 a.m.

Officer Russell was dispatched to the Kennedy Union loading dock concerning the theft of tools. Upon arrival he contacted a UD staff member who stated someone took his DeWalt Hammer drill, channel locks and screw driver sometime between March 9 and March 19. The tools were last seen under his desk and in his desk drawer. The total value of the tools is $385. There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.

Burglary

March 19, 3:01 p.m.

Officer Parmenter was dispatched to Founders Hall regarding theft in a room. He spoke with a UD student who said between March 9 and March 18 an unknown person entered the room and took $90 in cash from his wallet. The wallet was left in the top left drawer of a dresser. There were no signs of forced entry on the door and the victim said it was supposed to be locked when he left. There was nothing else missing from the room.

Petty Theft

March 19, 4:48 p.m.

Officer Cloyd was dispatched to Marianist Hall for a stolen bicycle report. He talked with a UD student who stated March 3 he rode his bicycle to the Science Center and locked it to the bike rack. After class he forgot he brought his bicycle and walked home. He left for break without getting the bicycle and when he returned the black, red, and silver Gary Fisher men's mountain bicycle was missing. It was valued at $300 and there are no suspects or witnesses.

Telephone Harassment

March 19, 7:31 p.m.

Officer Arnold arrived at Garden Apartments on Stewart Street concerning telephone harassment. The victim stated she received two phone calls while she was in class earlier that day. Afterward she turned her phone off, and when she turned it back on there were six voice mails with harsh comments from an unknown caller. The number on the cell phone appeared to come from Urbana, Ohio. The victim was not threatened by the calls.

Theft

March 20, 12:45 p.m.

Officer Parmenter was dispatched to the UD Bookstore regarding theft of a book bag. The victim said she placed her black Targus canvas book bag in the front doorway and 10-15 minutes later it had been stolen. The store was able to view the cameras and saw the suspect, a white male, walk in the door. A few minutes later he walked out, picked up the book bag and left the store. Nothing of monetary value was inside the book bag that was taken.
