Sept. 1, 3:43 p.m.
Officer Foreman was contacted over the phone by a complainant who said his car was missing after being parked in the RP11 lot behind Lowes Street. The 1988 dark blue Chevrolet Caprice was found missing at 3:20 p.m. Officer Foreman wrote the report and entered the vehicle into L.E.A.D.S. as stolen. The complainant was given a copy of the report.
Unlawful Entry, Burglary
Sept. 2, 5 p.m.
Officer Orrill was dispatched to Lowes Street on the report of criminal damaging. He met with a UD student who stated when his roommates returned to the home at 3 a.m., the house had been entered and a bedroom door was kicked in. No entry was made to the bedroom due to a padlock on the door, and there was no forcible entry because the house was left unlocked all evening. Approximately $50 of food was removed from the freezer.
Criminal Damaging
Sept. 3, 3:24 a.m.
Officer Pease was dispatched to a UD residence on Kiefaber Street in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. Two non-UD males were observed ripping a mail box from a front wall and prying off house numbers and fraternity letters. A large flower pot was also broken and an electrical outlet was ripped from the front wall. The two males were charged with Criminal Damaging and received Criminal Trespassing warnings.
Criminal Damaging
Sept. 6, 9:58 a.m.
Officer Arnold was dispatched to Miriam Hall to take report of criminal damaging done to a UD staff member's vehicle. He met with the victim who stated that Sept. 1 her front passenger side tire on her 2002 Lexus SUV was cut with an unknown object. The vehicle was parked in the B lot, and the cost to replace the tire was $100. This is the victim's fourth incident within two years in which her tires were cut. There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time.
Unlawful Entry, Burglary
Sept. 6, 11:30 a.m.
Sgt. Snyder was dispatched to the College Park Center regarding a theft. He contacted a UD student who said someone had removed his Tangent laptop computer from the living room of his house on Stonemill Road. The students and his housemates left the house and locked the doors, and when they returned the rear door was unlocked. No other property was found missing. The student does not know if there is insurance coverage on the laptop.
