The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Sept. 9 and Sept. 11. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.Theft
Sept. 9, 1:23 a.m.
Officer Jolly was dispatched to Woodland Avenue concerning a burglary. He talked with a UD student who stated seven unknown males entered his house during an open party. After spending time in the living room they took DVDs and exited. A resident confronted the suspects in the street, but they drove off in a 1987 Pontiac 6000. The suspects were described as white males 18 to 21 years old wearing baggy jeans and T-shirts.
Theft
Sept. 9, 2:27 a.m.
Officer Pease was dispatched to Kiefaber Street in reference to a theft complaint. Two UD students claimed they were missing laptop computers from the front room of the house. They were taken Sept. 9 between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Both computers were described as gray Tangent laptops valued at $1500 each. One of the students stated the only people in the residence at the time were close friends. There are no suspects at this time.
Criminal Damaging
Sept. 9, 2:31 a.m.
Officer Fritz was dispatched to Stonemill Road on the report of criminal damaging to a university owned residence. A UD student stated an unknown male arrived at the home, began fighting with him and attempted to go inside. The male punched the window in the front door and broke it. He received several cuts to his arms. The suspect fled the scene. Maintenance was requested and witness statements were collected.
Simple Assault
Sept. 10, 12:20 a.m.
Officer Fritz and Officer Pease arrived at the Campus South parking lot in reference to a fight in progress. A UD student with a swollen lip and bloody nose met with the officers after he had been tackled from behind. Squad One arrived and transported the student to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. Officer Fritz was able to identify and stop two non-UD students who were involved in the fight.
Unlawful Entry, Burglary
Sept. 11, 1:18 p.m.
Officer Arnold was dispatched to Lowes Street on the report of a theft. He met with the victim, a UD student, who claimed that Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. he placed his 30 GB iPod in his living room and when he returned Sept. 9 at 2 a.m. it was missing. The student said his roommates had friends over but they did not have a large party. The iPod is valued at $300 and has the student's name etched on the back. There are no known suspects at this time.
