Women\'s rugby looking strong

March 30, 2009

The UD Women's Rugby Club traveled to Nashville, TN, last weekend to
participate in one of the most prestigious spring tournaments, the Nash Bash. The team posted a 2-1 record losing to Southern Illinois and beating Ball State and Miami.

After a rejuvenating spring break, the team travels to Ohio U. on April 18 for a round robin outing with the host team and the University of Kentucky. The Flyers look to continue their high level of play versus the Bobcats having not beaten them in recent memory.

The UD Women's Rugby Club is an intramural sport that has played
continuously since 1987. In 2005, the club competed in the Dll national
championship game. The team practices Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
nights, 6 p.m., on the NCR fields on Stewart Street, just west of Brown near the band tower.
