Appalachian State at Dayton

December 21, 2009

Dayton battled through its injury problems and much more en route to a 65-49 win over a game Appalachian State team Monday, Dec. 21.

The Flyers, already playing without starters Chris and Marcus Johnson and reserve Luke Fathreezius, had to deal with tons of foul trouble in the first half that had them hurting for man-power. Their typical 11-man rotation was reduced to six when both London Warren and Rob Lowery had three and two fouls in the first half.

Luckily, Dayton's defense came to play, especially in the second half. The Flyers held the Mountaineers to 36 percent shooting and just 20 second half points.

Mickey Perry continues to play well, as he netted 15 to lead the Flyers in scoring. Chris Wright scored 14, and Paul Williams played his best game of the season and finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Dayton now has a week-long break from games until Boston University visits Dec. 29.
