MINNEAPOLIS- It's halftime at the Metrodome, and the Flyers are in a position few thought they would be in-- IN THE LEAD!

Dayton leads the No. 6 seed Mountaineers 33-28 at the break, and it's got to be surprising to the pundits out there in the media all week talking down at the "little school" Dayton Flyers.

Nevertheless, UD has a five-point lead. Chris Wright leads the team with 11 points, while Marcus Johnson has eight points and Charles Little has six.

The good thing for Dayton is that it has been able to stay out of foul trouble so far in the game. London Warren has two fouls, but other than that, Wright and Huelsman have both been able to foul just once.

Wright has resurrected his play following his shaky performance in the A-10 Tournament due to foul trouble.

The Flyers seem unusually loose for a team that possesses zero NCAA experience, and they have been playing as if this is UD Arena if you catch my drift.

The Flyers shouldn't soar too high though, as the Mountaineers will undoubtedly come out a little more ready in the second half.

The Flyers' defensive pressure around the perimeter has been sensational, and it has forced WV into several difficult and challenged opportunities. However, it seems like most of the Mountaineers' points have come off of free throws and second-chance opportunities-- something UD will have to curtail if it has hopes of moving on to face No. 3 seed Kansas.

I'll be back with second half highlights.
