Crime Log - February 12, 2008
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Jan. 24, 2008, and Jan. 27, 2008. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.
Theft
Jan. 24, 11:56 a.m.
Officer Russell was sent to a house on Woodland Avenue on the report of a theft. He met with a 21-year-old UD student who said someone had taken a silver Tangent laptop, valued at around $2,000, from his 2000 four-door Honda CR-V. The car was parked on the 100 block of Woodland Avenue. The laptop was on the passenger seat of the vehicle around 10:15 a.m. and he returned around 11:50 a.m. to find it missing. He left his door unlocked by accident.
Criminal Damaging
Jan. 25, 11:30 a.m.
Officer Durian was dispatched to S2 parking lot on the report of a criminal damaging complaint. He met with a 19-year-old UD student who said that she parked her green 1998 Dodge Neon on Jan. 18 in S2. Upon returning Jan. 20 she noticed her passenger side mirror was detached and hanging by electrical wires. There was no other damage. There are no suspects or witnesses and the cost of repair was unknown. It may be covered by insurance.
Criminal Damaging
Jan. 25, 6:16 p.m.
Officer Pease was dispatched to College Park Center in reference to a damaged property report. He met with a 21-year-old female who said that she noticed a scratch on her vehicle, a black Honda four-door. She saw the damage around 8:30 a.m. Jan. 17. She believes the damage occurred in the RP3 parking lot near the rear or K Street. The scratch was about 3 feet long extending from the rear driver's side door to the tail light.
Criminal Damaging
Jan. 26, 5:27 a.m.
Officer Little found one of the doors on the ground floor of Miriam Hall broken out. The door faces Stewart Street and shattered glass was lying on the ground inside and outside of the door. A mud smear was on a piece of glass still in the door. Officer Little walked through every floor of Miriam and Anderson Halls but did not locate any other damage. Officer Pease arrived on the scene and took photographs. He requested the door be secured.

Jan. 27, 3:17 p.m.
Officer Orrill was dispatched to Kiefaber Street on the report of a damaged vehicle. He met with a 21-year-old UD student who said the passenger side tires on his green 2004 Jeep Cherokee were flattened. The vehicle had been fine Jan. 26 and upon return he found flat tires. Officer Orrill could not find any penetrating marks on the tires and the valve stem covers were still fastened. An Oakwood police officer had observed a person slashing tires.
