Crime Log - March 24, 2006
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between March 14 and March 20. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.Theft
March 14, 7:13 p.m.
Officer Seipel met with a UD employee at Benisek Hall on the report of a theft. The complainant stated that he discovered his wallet was missing at approximately 5:15 p.m. He last saw his wallet at approximately 12 p.m. when he went through a drive-through. The complainant is not sure if the wallet was stolen or if he misplaced it. He stated that he had less than twenty dollars cash in his wallet, as well as his driver's license and a Visa check card.
Burglary
Unlawful Entry
March 16, 1 p.m.
Officer Durian was dispatched to Frericks Way in reference to a possible burglary. He met with the complainant, who stated that his bedroom is located in the basement of his residence. The complainant stated that he was holding some property for a roommate in his bedroom, because the roommate is unable to secure his bedroom door. He placed the roommate's 20-inch flat screen television and an Apple video iPod in his bedroom. The complainant stated that he locked the front door when he left the residence on March 15 at 7:30 a.m., and noticed when he returned at 5 p.m. that the flat screen television and iPod were missing from his bedroom. He stated that his landlord had somebody over working at their residence and that there was a letter left for him on his bedroom door from his landlord. The complainant stated that his bedroom door had not been padlocked when he left in the morning. Officer Durian spoke to the complainant's roommate, who stated that the television was valued at $1000 and the Apple video iPod was valued at $475.
Criminal Damaging
March 19, 9:16 p.m.
Officer Fritz was dispatched to Stonemill Road on a report of criminal damaging to the residence. The complainant stated that he had returned home at approximately 10 a.m. and observed that the rear door to the residence had been damaged near the doorknob. He stated that the door was still locked and no items were missing from the house. Officer Fritz observed that the door on the north side of the house was broken around the door knob and the wood was splintered completely through. He also noticed that the break in the wood continued alongside a window in the door, exposing the edge of the glass.
Burglary
March 20, 4 p.m.
Officer Seipel met with a UD student regarding a burglary. The complainant stated that he had left his cell phone, video camera and Ray Ban sunglasses on the table in his living room when he went to bed at approximately 2 a.m. on March 20. When he got up at approximately 1 p.m., the items were gone. The complainant stated that his roommates did not take the items, and they did not have anyone else at the residence that evening. He also stated that the front and back door were unlocked all night.
