Crime Log - August 27, 2006
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Aug. 17 and Aug. 20. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.Criminal Damaging
Aug. 17, 7:45 a.m.
Officer Arnold responded to Evanston Avenue on a call from Residential Properties due to a report of damage to freshly-laid sod. The damage consisted of tire tracks. The caller from Residential Properties was unable to meet Officer Arnold at the location of the damage, and consequently no further information was obtained. There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time, and it is not certain when the damage occurred.
Burglary
Aug. 18, 8:25 p.m.
Officer Durian met with a UD student at the College Park Center in reference to a stolen checkbook on Stonemill Road between May 5 and Aug. 11. The checks were left in the house all summer, and one check was cashed in the amount of $225. Fifth Third Bank located a copy of the check signed by a 44-year-old female. The student filed a complaint with Fifth Third Bank, and the suspect will be contacted at a later date.
Public Indecency
Aug. 19, 3:30 a.m.
Three females stopped Officer Jolly on Frericks Way regarding a male who had exposed himself to them. The UD students were walking on Rubicon Street towards Jasper Street when a male in his 30s held a magazine in front of his face and removed his shorts. The females completed witness statements.
Criminal Damaging
Aug. 20, 11:30 a.m.
Officer Arnold was dispatched to Evanston Avenue on the report of criminal damage to a vehicle. Between Aug. 18 and Aug. 20 someone broke the windshield of a silver 2001 Honda Accord with a round object. The vehicle is registered to the mother of a UD student and is insured.
Criminal Mischief
Aug. 20, 6:00 p.m.
Officer Jolly was dispatched to Stonemill Road in response to damage to a silver 1996 Honda Accord parked in the RP7 lot. The passenger side mirror was loose from the door frame with the wiring still intact. The cost to fix the damage is unknown at this time.
Petty Theft
Aug. 20, 6:44 p.m.
Officer Orrill met with a UD student in the report of a stolen grill on Lawnview Avenue valued at $50. The student left her 'BBQ Grillware' on the front porch unsecured. At approximately 1:00 p.m. she noticed it was missing. There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.
