Crime Log - December 05, 2006
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Sept. 26 and Oct. 8. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.Criminal Damaging
Nov. 21, 8:45 p.m.
Officer Cloyd was on foot patrol in Humanities when he was approached by a UD student who reported damage to his vehicle. Someone damaged the radio antenna on his silver 2003 Saturn Ion while parked on Kiefaber Street. It was parked around 11 a.m. Nov. 20 and he returned around 1 a.m. Nov. 21 to discover the damage. The repair costs are unknown at this time. There are no known witnesses or suspects.
Burglary
Nov. 26, 1:34 p.m.
Officer Parmenter was dispatched to a residence on College Park regarding burglary that occurred over Thanksgiving break. He spoke with a UD student who said someone entered the house by forcing open the back door. Two DVD players, a stereo system and approximately 10 DVDs were missing, among other objects. Every room appeared to have been searched, with items possibly missing from all. There are no witnesses or suspects.
Criminal Damaging
Nov. 26, 3:53 p.m.
Officer Foreman was dispatched to the C parking lot concerning a criminal damaging incident. Upon arrival, he met with a UD student who said he parked his vehicle in the lot to go to Cincinnati with a class. When he returned, he noticed a set of three circular key scratches on the front right fender of his 1998 red Honda Accord. The cost to repair the damage is unknown. There was no other damage or entry to the vehicle, and there are no suspects.
Theft
Nov. 28, 5:16 p.m.
Officer Orrill arrived at Keller Hall on the report of a stolen laptop computer. He talked to a UD graduate student who stated he stayed after class to study. He plugged in his computer and left it on the table while he went to the restroom. The student used his laptop bag to prop the door open because it automatically locks. When he returned, the Hewlett Packard laptop was missing. It is valued at $1,500. There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.
Criminal Damaging
Nov. 29, 4:11 p.m.
Officer Durian was dispatched to a residence on College Park concerning a criminal damage complaint. He met with a UD student who said she left Nov. 23 for Thanksgiving break. She received a call from a friend who lives below her, saying she heard something break upstairs in the residence. The victim returned Nov. 24 and found the outer pane on the north window had been shattered. There are no known suspects at this time.
