Crime Log - September 14, 2007
The following incidents were reported to the Department of Public Safety between Aug. 25 and Aug. 26. This log was compiled by Flyer News from actual police reports obtained from the Department of Public Safety.
Criminal Damaging
Aug. 25, 2:24 p.m.
Officer Durian met with a UD student on Stonemill Road regarding a damaged vehicle. The complainant said he had parked the car on Stonemill Road on Aug. 24 around noon. When he returned to the parking spot Aug. 25 around the same time he saw that his car had been damaged. The passenger mirror was broken off and the victim was not able to identify who had broken his vehicle. The subject did not file a claim with his insurance company.
Aggravated Burglary
Aug. 26, 2:30 a.m.
Officer Seipel and Sergeant Swank were patrolling the south student neighborhood when a male UD student stopped their police car. The boy said that two males had walked into his house on Kiefaber Street and pulled guns on the residents. The men had lifted their shirts to show the semiautomatic handguns in their waistbands and stole a cell phone from the living room. They left in what the residents remembered to be a silver or white convertible.
Strong Arm Robbery
Aug. 26, 2:45 a.m.
A male UD student stopped Officer Cloy on Stonemill Road to report that he had just been robbed. He stated he was walking on Evanston Avenue near Irving Avenue around 2:25 a.m. when three males approached him. The boys sucker punched him twice and stole his cell phone and wallet. The incident left a small, raised red spot above his eye but the victim had no other injuries. The three male suspects wore white shirts and shorts.
Simple Assault
Aug. 26, 3:18 a.m.
Officer Cloyd met a male UD student at the Miami Valley Hospital in regard to an assault. The subject had been amicably approached by three black males and one Hispanic female on Lowes Street. One of the males punched him in the mouth and when the student tried to run, the other male pushed him to the ground. All males were wearing white shirts and shorts but the student could not describe the female. No signs of weapons were present.
